MB7UF APRS DIGI

Location: Central Folkestone

APRS has always been popular in the area and over the years many locals have tried this mode. There are lots of mobiles that travel through this digi which is well placed, it can directly see MB7UYE near Wye, Ashford and MB7URO at Greatstone, New Romney.

MB7UF is on 144.800 – providing coverage to Folkestone, and the Romney Marsh areas.

In recent times it appears it has been a bit on the deaf side, so after many years of operation, the radio for MB7UF APRS Digi has been changed.  The Digi uses a KPC3+ TNC in stand alone mode.

The Coverage of the Digi seems to be far improved and is working well, check out the link below.

The antenna which was installed many years ago is still working well with good SWR on 2m and 70cms.
