Packet Radio seems to be expanding again across the UK. Lots are digging out there old TNC's and having a play. There are now many BBS's and Nodes around the UK operational.
I am not sure who has TNC's still hanging around, there are other ways to interface radios too, plus I see that WINTNC software has now been updated to work on Windows 10.
At the moment looking at the maps there doesn't seem to be much activity in Kent, but we could change that!
I am looking to have a play during Autumn and Winter. Its possible we could set up a Node up in Capel on 2m, which might give us connectivity over into Essex too. I know John G0GCQ had a go running the BBS a while back, GB7RMS. Maybe if there is some interest we could have a go?
There is plenty of cheap hardware around, and software, so could be a good project. I am sure we will learn the commands again and how it all works!
Please reply direct if interested, maybe we could have a talk about it at the next meeting and look at how they are doing in the North West UK.
